Dear Wilma & All:

I got the Birthday card and letter from you yesterday and I was really glad to get them. It seemed like it has been months since I had heard from you.

The flowers were pressed nice and flat. I’ll be now I have the only flowers on this rock.

No I haven’t heard from Claude yet. I’ve been expecting one but I know he doesn’t write very often.

I hope I get home in August to get some of those fried chickens. I’ll bet I could eat at least two at one meal. Will they still be young enough to fry in Sept. in case I don’t make it in Aug.

I mailed a box of clothes to you today. I didn’t want to keep them any longer because if i did get a chance to come home and to fly back I could only take just a little with me. If you will I wish you would send the blues and the raincoat to the cleaners or maybe just the coat and wash the blues in just warm water. I saved just enough shorts and shiny shirts and black socks to last me from the time I hit the states till I get home. I wear white sock here and no shorts or undershirt so I can’t use them.

There’s a couple of little birds made out of shells for Judith in there too.

Tell Dad these letters are for him too as long as he’s there. I can write to you both at once although there never is much I can write about.

Do you ever hear from Uncle David or any of the relatives?

Write ofter Wilma. I always enjoy getting long letters from you.

Love
Elmer
